They built this castle together, far from prying Muggle eyes, for it was an age when magic was feared by common people, and witches and wizards suffered much persecution." -- Professor Binns (CoS) Godric Gryffindor: House of Courage "Godric Gryffindor was the most accomplished dueller of his time, an enlightened fighter against Muggle-discrimination." -- JKR Helga Hufflepuff: House of Diligence "She brought people from different walks of life together to help build Hogwarts and was loved for her charming ways." -- Chocolate Frog Card Salazar Slytherin: House of Ambition "Salazar Slytherin was one of the first recorded Parselmouths and an accomplished Legilimens." -- JKR Rowena Ravenclaw: House of Knowledge "It's thought that she came up with the ever-changing floor plan.
